Introduction to Strokes

Basically, don't hang your shoes up yet (pet), I need a pie and a cup of tea.

This is just a "starter for 10" and covers nine of the main strokes, as follows

diăn - a dot, speck
héng - means horizontal; a horizontal stroke left to right
shù - means vertical; a vertical stroke top to bottom
piĕ - means to throw; a left-slanting downward stroke
nà - means to press down firmly; a vertical stroke falling to the right
tí - means to lift; a lifting stroke - diagonal upwards
gōu - means a hook; added n to other strokes, sudden sharp turn.
wān - means a bend; tapering curved line, down and to the left.
xié - means a slanting; tapering curved line, down and to the right.
